Invitational

The Golden Horseshoe Military Invitational Golf Tournament features two-person, amateur teams vying in a 36-hole competition format. To be eligible for competition, one player must be active duty, retired or reserve military or National Guard member. First round is four-ball (two person, best ball) and the second round is captain’s choice.

Creating spaces which unify the home and garden has been the goal of architects and garden designers for centuries. The loggias of the Palladian villas provided intermediate spaces offering shade and fresh air for outdoor living “en plain air.” Americans continue to push their living spaces into the outdoors for both relaxation and entertainment. The year 2007 marks the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America, and the 61st Colonial Williamsburg Garden Symposium will thematically link to this important anniversary by focusing on the “English Influences on American Gardens.” The event starts with a reception in the Governor's Palace Gardens and ends with a Garden Party.
