A festival dedicated to the Greeks in New Orleans. The festival showcases Greek food music and culture. It's a great family event that takes place every year on Memorial Day weekend.

Go 4th on the River

Ranked 5th "must see" fireworks display in the U.S., by American Pyrotechnic Association. The 18th Annual Go 4th on the River will feature Entertainment and the Dueling Barges Fireworks Extravaganza.

Satchmo Summer Fest
Date: July 31 - August 3, 2008

What a Wonderful World" you'll discover during an entertaining and educating weekend in the French Quarter honoring New Orleans' native son, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong. The Satchmo-inspired program includes musical performances, lively discussions, jazz exhibits, a jazz mass, activities for budding young jazz fans, a club crawl, "red beans and ricely yours" foods, and a star-studded line-up of performances that would have made Louis smile.

Annual New Orleans Film Festival
Date: October 9-16, 2008

Formed in 1989 with the mission of advancing the appreciation of film and providing the New Orleans community greater access to film, the New Orleans Film Festival showcases a diversity of local, national, and international films highlighted by the participation and interaction of filmmakers and industry professionals. Now, almost two decades later, the Festival attracts record-breaking crowds of nearly 10,000 and has a year-round program that includes the French Film Festival, free sneak previews of new art house film releases, and special events designed to benefit local film and video audiences, artists and professionals.

Swamp Fest at Audubon Zoo
Date: November 1-2, 2008

Celebrate Swamp Fest with Cajun food, music, and crafts. This weekend salute to Louisiana's Bayou country at the Zoo features hands-on encounters with live Louisiana swamp animals and special animal feedings. Swamp Fest is free with Zoo admission.
