Come celebrate the 231th anniversary of North Carolina’s signing of the Declaration of Independence – the first state in the new nation to celebrate the occasion. Hear the Declaration of Independence read from the Palace steps at 11:00am by costumed characters portraying famous North Carolinians from the Revolutionary era; listen to the Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corps; and participate in the thematic and patriotic craft activities. There will be free garden admission from 9am to 5pm.
Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour

This annual September event is coordinated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Eastern Carolina Chapter. The event draws thousands of cyclists, volunteers, family members, and fans to New Bern each fall. Pictured to the right are members of New Bern Parks and Recreation's Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC).

The Alpenverein of New Bern will be hosting their 20th Annual Oktoberfest at the New Bern Farmer’s Market. There will be a delicious authentic German meal served along with continuous music. As always, great desserts baked by our own members will be available as well as warm pretzels. Mark your calendars and plan on spending a fun evening with Alpenverein.
