Do's & Don'ts
• Gaming Etiquette – Do not bring
personal electronic items into any casino, and turn your cell phone off when
seated at a gaming table. You also cannot bring a cell phone or pager into any
sports booking section of any casino in Vegas. You must be 21 years of age or
older to gamble in Las Vegas.
• Health - You are in a desert –
Especially during hot summer months make sure to carry water with you and wear
sunscreen at all times.
• Safety - The high-concentration areas of Las
Vegas are among the safest places for visitors in the world. However, you
should always be aware of your surroundings. In the casino, keep an eye on
your purse and chips at all times.
• Smoking Etiquette - Vegas is
still smoker-friendly. Non-smokers should look for a no-smoking table or slots
area, which many hotels have.
Tipping Guidelines
In Vegas, 15% to 20% of the total bill is the expected average for tipping.
Some additional guidelines:
• Hotel personnel: Tip $1 to $2
for each piece of luggage. If you are using concierge services, a $5 tip is
appropriate.
• Dealers and slot attendants: A small bet for the dealer
is the usual method of tipping at gaming tables. A small tip is also
appropriate for slot attendants.
• Taxi drivers and tour guides: Taxi
drivers usually receive $1 to $2 for a direct route, or follow the 15% to 20%,
whichever is greater.
• Valet parking and housekeeping: You should tip
$2 to a parking valet, while $2 a day is a good tip for housekeeping services.
