Apple River Fort State Historic Site
- History of the Black Hawk War and the cultures are explored. Black Hawk and
his warriors attacked the hastily erected fort on June 24, 1832. Illustrated
panels tell the story of Sauk and Fox, the early miners, and the conflict
between the two cultures. Kids will love this educational adventure.
